Event Details
Cities, countries, and organizations are making strides towards a more sustainable future by making ambitious commitments and targets at recently concluded COP26. However, to meet the climate goals of keeping the global average temperature rise in this century as close as possible to 1.5 degree Celsius, we need to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The SEAS carbon white paper published in 2019 covered some of the areas where impact can be made including developing a decarbonization ecosystem as well as a connected carbon market in the region. Often carbon reduction is not center stage specially for smaller companies and there has to be a shift in perspective, to incorporate it into the overall business strategy and the corporate sustainability narrative (decarbonization roadmap), and drive conversations at the C-level, in order to implement the right solutions, unlock the opportunities to create value, reduce risks and improve climate resilience.
