This keynote will highlight how Republic Act 11285, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act of 2019, and Republic Act 9513, Renewable Energy Act of 2008, and their respective implementing guidelines, are removing barriers to a massive deployment of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in the Philippines, and how Republic Act 11534 (CREATE Act) has standardized the fiscal incentives for foreign-owned or domestic investments in EE and RE projects. This keynote will likewise present how self-use RE in the demand-side of the energy market can be incentivized within the technological scope of the EE law. By presenting successful case studies from the Philippines, the keynote aims to offer actionable insights and inspire stakeholders to advance the country’s clean energy transition targets of the Philippine Energy Plan 2020-2040.
