Event Details

The Carbon Working Group is a focused interest group under the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), aiming to bring together experts and key players to provide vision, direction and guidance in the development and implementation of carbon projects in and outside Singapore.

The Carbon Working Group also aims to promote awareness of decarbonisation, carbon credit generation, REC generation, carbon markets, role of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS).

    Kavita Gandhi has an extensive background in environment and developmental sector spanning over last 20 years. Kavita has been involved in multi-dimensional projects like United States Asia Environmental Partnership (US-AEP) and was Instrumental in setting up of Clean Technology Environmental Management Centre (CTEM) in the Singapore Manufacturer’s Association. She has experience working with environmental sector startups and SMEs in her capacity as a manager of the Singapore Association for Environmental Companies (SAFECO). Kavita was one of the key personnel involved in setting up the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore and securing a grant from SPRING Singapore to run programs in the area of local enterprise development, market development and training & conferences for clean energy industry. She also represents the association in various government and non-government committees related to clean energy. She was instrumental in developing and managing some unique programs like the SME Energy Efficiency outreach as well cleantech incubator. Kavita has an MSc in Environmental Management from Wye College, University of London.
    Kavita is also representing SEAS on the following:

    Meet Vinod Kesava. Co Founder & CEO of Climate Resources Exchange (CRX) who has 20 years of experience in the global carbon markets will shed light on the untapped additional value of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency projects. He will share proven CRX successes where RE installations can be integrated with environmental attributes from carbon credits/renewable energy certificates resulting in a full sales cycle consisting of additional revenue streams from carbon assets and environmental attributes.

    Vinod Kesava is also a council member of SEAS.

    Mr Rueban Manokara is Assistant Director (Global Partnerships) from the National Climate
    Change Secretariat in the Strategy Group, Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore. He is Singapore’s lead negotiator for Article 6 at the UNFCCC and coordinates Singapore’s international strategy on climate change. Prior to that, Rueban has served in the Singapore Armed Forces, as well as the Ministry of Defence.

    Christopher is an Associate in our Commodities team in our Singapore office with a focus on commodities, carbon markets and climate finance.

    Christopher has experience advising a wide range of international clients on primary and secondary emissions reduction purchase agreements, prepayment structures, Article 6 markets under the Paris Agreement, CORSIA, the EU ETS and environmental product derivatives (including ISDA documentation and exchange-traded derivatives). Christopher also has experience advising on LNG sale and purchase documentation, trade finance, and a wide range of commodities trading matters.

    Christopher obtained a Bachelor of Laws (with highest honours) from the Singapore Management University and a Master of Laws (with highest honours) from Columbia University in New York.

    He is a recognised name in the commodity, climate finance and derivatives markets and is familiar name in the legal directories including Chambers and Partners UK and Global, Legal 500 UK, Who’s Who Legal: Environment, PLC’s WhichLawyer, London Super Lawyers List for Energy and Natural Resources and Winner of the Client Choice Awards for Singapore Derivatives (2018).

    Peter was invited to join the IIF Task force on scaling voluntary carbon markets initiated by Mark Carney in his capacity as UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance Advisor to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson for COP26.

    His clients include industry leading names who are commodity merchants, miners, utilities, investment banks, multilateral development institutions, corporates and fund managers.
