Energy Efficiency: A Key Driver to Decarbonisation
Event Details
The Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) together with ENGIE Impact is organizing a roundtable discussion, and would like to invite you to join us as a panelist to share your inputs on how we can implement the right solutions, unlock the opportunities to create value, reduce risks and improve climate resilience.
As you know cities, countries, and organizations are making strides towards a more sustainable future by making ambitious commitments in line with the Paris Agreement targets. However, to meet the climate goals of keeping the global average temperature rise in this century as close as possible to 1.5 degree Celsius, we need to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Energy production and consumption is the primary source of GHG emissions (according to c2es), and to reduce carbon footprint, one of the key levers is energy efficiency. We think that energy efficiency is often overlooked, but Asia and the Pacific have the greatest opportunity to mitigate climate change by being energy efficient. There has to be a shift in perspective, to incorporate energy efficiency into the overall business strategy and the corporate sustainability narrative (decarbonization roadmap), and drive conversations at the C-level
