Course Objective

Singapore's solar target as announced by Minister Chan Chun Sing is to be 3.5 Mw Peak by 2030, the nation is expected to ramp up solar installations over the next few years. As solar energy is inherently irregular (because of cloud coverage), energy storage system is critical for the storage of excess energy during times of high solar irradiance. The critical skills to designing a solar system with energy storage becomes a key strategic approach for most solar installation.

Learners will be able to:

  • Perform basic calculations for battery systems
  • Perform interfacing calculations for power grid system and battery system
  • Design Solar Battery System to meet site requirement
