Event Details

SEAS set up ESS Working Group in April 2021 to form an ecosystem for all energy storage companies and to have a common platform to share and grow the sector together. ESS is an integral part of RE projects within the region. ESS involves solar, wind technologies, investors, digitalisation, financing and carbon which is generated from these projects. This Working Group encourages training, promotion of standards and providing vision and guidance of ESS projects in the region within the regulation and guidelines of electricity market in Singapore.

    Kavita Gandhi has an extensive background in environment and developmental sector spanning over last 20 years. Kavita has been involved in multi-dimensional projects like United States Asia Environmental Partnership (US-AEP) and was Instrumental in setting up of Clean Technology Environmental Management Centre (CTEM) in the Singapore Manufacturer’s Association. She has experience working with environmental sector startups and SMEs in her capacity as a manager of the Singapore Association for Environmental Companies (SAFECO). Kavita was one of the key personnel involved in setting up the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore and securing a grant from SPRING Singapore to run programs in the area of local enterprise development, market development and training & conferences for clean energy industry. She also represents the association in various government and non-government committees related to clean energy. She was instrumental in developing and managing some unique programs like the SME Energy Efficiency outreach as well cleantech incubator. Kavita has an MSc in Environmental Management from Wye College, University of London.
    Kavita is also representing SEAS on the following:

    • Co-convener Renewable Energy Standards (RECs) working group, ESG
    • TC for Energy, ESG

    Ram serves as the Co-director of the Smart Grid & Power Electronics consortium. He pursued his Doctorate in Power Electronics & Master of Science in Micro-electronics from the National University of Singapore and received his Master of Business Administration specializing on Product Innovation management from the Cardiff school of management. He is a cleantech-generalist having served in the key research establishments, start-up environments & conducting industry projects. He focuses on co-development & commercialization of deep-tech ideas in the Climatech domain, thereby reducing-to-practice innovation & scaling for markets with techno-commercial outfits. His core activities at the Smart Grid consortium are architecting ventures and facilitating partnerships for energy transition. Ram is passionate about scaling technologies involving multidisciplinary diffusions of innovation orchestrating different stake holders of early-stage ventures.
