Leading a consortium of institutes and departments from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) has updated the "Solar PV Roadmap for Singapore", which it had originally published in 2014 and which has been considered an essential guide for the planning and development of the solar energy sector in Singapore. Since then, the PV industry has developed substantially โ in terms of the diversity of the underlying technologies, their economics, the size of the industry, and modes of deployment.
The update aimed at assessing the technical potential for solar PV in Singapore, guide future research directions and government regulations, and give a clear long-term perspective, which in turn would serve as a solid base for private sector investments, be it in research & development, manufacturing or system deployment. The new release covers the timeframe until 2030, with a projection until 2050.
In this webinar, the Lead Author, Dr Thomas Reindl, will present the results from the "UPDATE of the Solar PV Roadmap" project to the broader solar eco-system in Singapore from public and private sectors.
