Event Details

The Hydrogen Working Group is a focused interest group under the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), aiming to bring together experts and key players to provide vision, direction and guidance in the development and implementation of hydrogen projects in and outside Singapore. This is in line with Singapore's Net Zero ambitions by 2050.


The Hydrogen Working Group committee is chaired by Vipul Tuli.

    Senior Consultant - Hydrogen, CCUS and Low Carbon Fuels at DNV Singapore Pte Ltd

    Dr. Gaurav Bhattacharjee currently serves as a Senior Consultant in the Hydrogen, CCUS and Low Carbon Fuels team at DNV Singapore. He is an energy sector professional with over 10 years of experience executing projects on diverse and critical energy-related subjects such as natural gas storage, CCUS, hydrogen production and storage, etc.

    A career highlight for Gaurav is pioneering the Solidified Natural Gas (SNG) Technology, a potential solution for safe and economical long-term natural gas storage. His groundbreaking innovations for this technology earned him a spot on the ‘Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia’ 2021 list. Gaurav has to his credit 35+ peer-reviewed research articles published in high-impact journals such as Energy & Environmental Science. Additionally, he has been granted World and US Patents and has delivered keynotes, conference lectures, and invited talks worldwide. His work has also been covered by more than 30 prominent news outlets, magazines, and blogs such as Channel NewsAsia, Chemistry World, Mothership.SG New Atlas, Science et Vie, etc.

    Recognizing the need for a timely move toward a low-carbon future, over the past three years, Gaurav has led multiple projects focused on the creation of a resilient ‘Green Hydrogen’ based economy. Gaurav also possesses a keen interest in exploring and working on other low-carbon fuels such as Renewable Natural Gas, E-Fuels, etc.

    Kavita Gandhi has an extensive background in environment and developmental sector spanning over last 20 years. Kavita has been involved in multi-dimensional projects like United States Asia Environmental Partnership (US-AEP) and was Instrumental in setting up of Clean Technology Environmental Management Centre (CTEM) in the Singapore Manufacturer’s Association. She has experience working with environmental sector startups and SMEs in her capacity as a manager of the Singapore Association for Environmental Companies (SAFECO). Kavita was one of the key personnel involved in setting up the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore and securing a grant from SPRING Singapore to run programs in the area of local enterprise development, market development and training & conferences for clean energy industry. She also represents the association in various government and non-government committees related to clean energy. She was instrumental in developing and managing some unique programs like the SME Energy Efficiency outreach as well cleantech incubator. Kavita has an MSc in Environmental Management from Wye College, University of London.

    Chairman, South Asia, CEO, Hydrogen Business of Sembcorp

    Mr Tuli oversees Sembcorp’s investments and key stakeholder relationships in India and Bangladesh. He is concurrently the CEO of Sembcorp’s newly created global Hydrogen Business since January 6, 2023.

    Mr Tuli has 30 years of experience in the energy sector. Prior to Sembcorp, he was a senior partner with McKinsey & Company where he helped to build and lead its Asian energy practice. He has also advised government institutions on issues of energy policy, organisation, industry structure, and regulation.

    Mr Tuli holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and completed his post graduate studies in business management from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
